Quote of the Day

“Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.” – Groucho Marx

365 Days to a Balanced Life – Day 18

About 5 years ago I was introduced to the power of organic theraputic grade essential oils.  I had often seen aromatherapy oils and had tried them during massages or in the stores but found I did not get much out of them.  Possibly I was a little relaxed while having a massage but  I couldn’t be sure if it was the massage itself.

That changed when I was given a “hit” of frankincense during a treatment.  I was feeling a little tense and the woman suggested I try a drop of frankincense on my tongue and also rubbed it on my brain stem.  The effect was almost immediate.  I was hooked from that point on.

I have gone on to study essential oils and use them extensively even going to a 5 day conference in Utah.  I have used oils for getting rid of headaches, nausea, colds, flus, infections, cuts and burns.  The applications are endless.

One of the protocols I have been using on and off (more on lately) is for mood lifting.  The reason I am blogging on this issue today is I am feeling a little down the past few days and realize I have neglected my daily application.  Hmmmm

Depression Protocol

One of my favorite oils in this protocol is Joy – I take a few drops in my hand and rub on my heart chakra.  I then like to inhale this using my hands as a diffuser. (I often diffuse Joy in the house to help keep everyone feeling good)

I then take Harmony and put it on my solar plexus

Valor on my wrists – holding them together for a minute

And finally I put four drops of White Angelica in my palms and smooth over me from head to hip.

It works for me.
