 365 Days to a Balanced Life Journey – Day 229

Coincidentally, the above quote came to me the same day as I started back at my outdoor fitness group (after a 5 month hiatus).  Following our 90 minute walk and coffee meeting I felt rejuvenated in a way that I do not after a regular gym workout.  It is the combination of being outside in the fresh air (with a group of lovely ladies from Fresh Air Fitness) and connecting with other women that energizes me and recharges my spirit.  I felt myself vibrating on a different level all day long.  I even noticed a definite attitude shift.  I have to say it has made me reevaluate how I spend my time most days and why I do not make time to do more of this.  Why are we so reluctant to exchange bad habits for good even though we know we will feel better?

I felt so good today that I tentatively committed to joining them on a walking tour of Italy in September.  Imagine 10 days walking through the Italian countryside meeting women from all over the world, exercising, being in nature and indulging in the wonderful foods and wines of Italy.  Does life get any better than that??????  Wish me luck on selling the idea to my husband tonight!  (hopefully he will be as excited about it as I am ) :) Having just come back from a 6 week solo trip to Australia it will take all my persuasive powers to get him to see the necessity of this trip.  I might have to agree to meet him in Prague afterwards to celebrate our 10 year Anniversary (I think I’m going through a good stage in my life if this is even an option!)

As I head into the home stretch of my 365 Days to a Balanced Life Journey, I realize I have to get more committed to “breaking those habits that can break me”.  I need to walk my talk (at this point I will have to jog it).  I have already changed a great number of things in my life these past 229 days but I want to be more focused on “adopting those practices that will become the habits that help me achieve the success I desire”.
