365 Days to a Balanced Life Journey – Day 79

Quote of the Day

“Habit, if not resisted, soon becomes necessity.” – St. Augustine

I was messing around on the Google calendar today to see if I could create an easy daily agenda that would incorporate all the changes I am making.  To my delight Google actually emails me at the time designated to remind me to do these things (so no excuses anymore!).  Doing this I realized two things, how much I am trying to do and how little I am getting done.  In my past life this would have depressed me.  Today I am simply challenged by it!! (ok, maybe a little depressed too, but only a little)

I decided to go back to the beginning of my 365 Days to a Balanced Life Journey to review and attempt to incorporate as many of the daily habits as I can into my new Google Agenda.  I admit this seems like a lot to add to our already busy lives (I am 100% dedicated to this and it is difficult) but I think that it is worth it.

Doing this gives us an opportunity to really examine our lives and where we are spending (or wasting) our very valuable time.  The older I get the more valuable my time is becoming to me.  If these last 79 days have taught me anything it is to live life with a “seize the day” attitude.  This requires the stamina that will come from exchanging bad habits for good and wasted time for productive time.  So many of us have been conditioned to view productive time as work.  Productive time should mean sitting quietly in meditation, reading a good book or going for a walk with your spouse and most importantly playing a game with your child.

We don’t want to get to the end of our lives realizing that we have wasted so much of it working, feeling exhausted , unfulfilled and regretful.  Not to mention, angry, frustrated, sad, depressed, sick, over whelmed etc…………………………………………………………………….

So, SIEZE THE DAY my friends!
